"Grounded" Series
The series consists of images made by physically constructing scenes in real spaces as opposed to working digitally. In this series, I have photographed the landscape, but with a twist. I began this series by sketching various ideas of how I could bring trees, grass, or clouds indoors as well as put curtains, wallpapered walls, and floors outside. After photographing the item that I was going transport, I printed the image close to life-size. Depending on the shot, I either adhered the image to foam board, a wall, or a ceiling to act as a prop or a backdrop. By blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces, I attempt to create mysterious images that cause the viewer to do a double take. Within these real and fictional spaces, nothing is grounded.
